Brian Wexham - Chief Executive Officer

Mr Wexham has been a Director of WorldSkills Australia Inc since 2002 and has taken a keen interest in emerging skills shortages and the quality of trade training in Australia.

His background in media, advertising and publishing is extensive and includes executive roles with The Times and The Sunday Times in London, board positions with The Observer and the Today newspaper, London. He is also the former Chief Executive of Lonhro Media Group PLC East Africa and more recently was the Chief Executive of APN Educational Media (Australia and New Zealand).

Kathryn Lees - Operations Manager

Kathryn has an extensive background in strategy and communications. She has worked in senior roles in leading advertising agencies and corporations throughout Australia on a range of brands from Cadbury Schweppes, Foster’s and Carlton & United, and Nescafe through to Toyota and Xbox 360. Her role as Operations Manager at The Institute for Trade Skills Excellence involves her overseeing the development and evolution of many of its initiatives such as SkillsOne Television, skillsone.com.au, The Star Rating Scheme, the Trade Teacher Awards.

 
 

Gemma Hogan - Marketing & Institute Coordinator

Gemma holds a M.Sc. in Political Communications & Public Affairs. She started out her working life as a research assistant with the Irish government in a department that was tasked to identify skills and training gaps. Since then she has worked on a campaign called Families under the Influence, which highlighted and communicated the effect of alcohol on the family unit to industry, government and families. Gemma has also worked in Spain and China on her way to Australia.  In Australia she previously worked in an internal communications role for a major commercial bank. She is now working in the capacity of Marketing and Institute Coordinator with The Institute for Trades Skills Excellence.

Helen Singleton - Administration Manager

Helen Singleton joined The Institute for Trades Skills Excellence in November 2007.  She started off her working career within the Hospitality Industry but then moved into Human Resources specialising in the Recruitment both external and internal.  When working for a large commercial high street Bank Helen worked in an internal change management / communications role which gave her extensive experience organising large events.  Helen has joined the team at The Institute of Trades Skills Excellence as the Administration Manager.

 
 

Kristy Haley - Executive Assistant to Brian Wexham

Kristy Haley joined The Institute for Trade Skills Excellence at the beginning of 2007. She has completed a Traineeship in Clerical Administration and has also studied Information Technology and Business Management.  Kristy has extensive experience as an Executive Assistant. She previously worked as an EA with On- Q Human Resources for 7 years. During her time with On-Q she learned sign language to communicate with those seeking employment with the company. With a background in acting, Kristy brings a wealth of experience and understanding to the production side of SkillsOne Television.
